This place might look like Venice, but it is not. The water doesn’t have a funny smell, there are no over-priced restaurants all around serving pasta & pizza, no tour agents trying to sell you walking tours either, nor even religious monuments. There wouldn’t be… as this is actually a casino!
Welcome to The Venetian, in Macao. This luxurious resort is a mecca for gamblers and for those who like getting lost in a world of fantasy, fluff and make-believe. Sister company of the well-known Venetian in Las Vegas, The Venetian Macao is actually the LARGEST casino in the world!
Whenever you’re not burning the budget away in the high betting tables or slut machines, you can always seek some entertainment in the shopping areas where you may even take a gondola ride – the people who paddled double as opera singers, and they are not bad, not bad all.
Aside from that, the atmosphere in the casino is a little funny. I mean, this is a casino – it couldn’t be all rainbows and unicorns inside.
I’ve been to The Venetian in Vegas and that was a very large casino, aren’t they all?
I do love these little touches and creativity with the indoor canals. Maybe I need to add Macau to my itinerary.
If you’re into casinos, then Macau would be a very interesting place to travel to.
But even beyond the gambling world, it is quite an unique place with all the Chinese-Portuguese mix that is going on in there!
Hehehehe I’ve ben here – it’s quite incredible! I walked through there at about 2am, and it felt like day time!!
That’s the thing with casinos… once you’re on the inside, you completely forget about the sense of time! It’s always day on the inside!
