It was a cold and cloudy day but we were determined to head to Grand Teton National Park anyway and boy, was I glad that we did! The Tetons are truly majestic as they rise over 7000ft above the valley floor. The park is wonderful, tons of hikes, lakes and amazing vistas all around. We didn’t see any bears but we did see tons of elks, gazelles, and other wildlife.
This picture was taken from the Colter Bay visitor center next to Jackson Lake. The visitor centers are really nice because there are rangers there who will advise you on where to go, what to do, what roads are open, where you can see bears, etc. You can also catch a movie screening about the park, there are a variety of movies that play every 30 minutes or so in a small theater. Then of course there’s the mandatory gift shop! We decided to skip the bustle and sneak out behind the visitor center – and this is what we saw!
stunning photo!
