As our tour of San Francisco’s best hostels continued with Hostelbookers.com, we went on to experience USA Hostels. We had stayed at USA Hostels Hollywood before, so we knew good things were coming our way.
As we entered USA Hostels, a sticker reading “Hostelbookers loves it here. So will you!” gave us the reassurance that this is not only a good hostel, but a great hang out too.
Location wise, USA Hostel San Francisco has the best of both worlds. It’s walking distance from the touristic Union Square (less than 10 mins), but not too close that you’ll feel everything around you is a tourist trap. In fact, there are small restaurants and coffee shops right outside, which is something we appreciated to give F&B chains a rest (special kudos to the Indonesian restaurant right across the street!).
USA Hostel includes accommodation in dorms and privates, presenting a good budget option for San Francsico, where accommodation prices don’t tend to be best friends with a backpacker’s pocket.
The room rate includes breakfast: all you can make pancakes, breads, spreads, instant oatmeal, fruit, juices and coffee/tea.
The dining room doubles up as hanging out spot in the evenings, where backpackers staying at the hostel tend to come down to talk to each other and play games (there are pool tables and foosball).
There’s also a small library including a couple of computers (WIFI is free and covers all areas of the hostel). And, for the less introvert, karaoke nights are held in the movie theatre. This is not a room with a TV that USA Hostels decided to call “movie theatre” is an actual movie hall!
Good facilities, a friendly team and an affordable price, make USA Hostel San Francisco a great option to stay at when you visit the city!
Recommended by Hostelbookers.com, and now recommended by A&Z too!
