The Chi Lin Nunnery in Hong Kong is next to the Nan Lian Garden so if you head there you can see two awesome things at once! The Nan Lian Garden is an amazing Chinese style garden that you walk around, and if an aura of peace could be created by man, then this is it! The garden has a truly relaxing feel with its waterfalls, lakes, bonsai trees, and beautiful landscaping. Beware that you’re only supposed to walk around the garden in one direction! (don’t worry, there are signs pointing you along the right way)
The Chi Lin Nunnery sits right next to the garden and you’ll find some people praying there at most times of the day. It’s doubles up as a buddhist monastery and a walk around the Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery definitely make for an interesting afternoon in Hong Kong! What’s more, traditional architecture with a backdrop of skyscrapers definitely feels unique.
