Hotel Ollanta is a nice little hotel outside the noisy hustle and bustle of Ica’s city center but near enough that you can be in the middle of the action in about 10 minutes.
The rooms are welcoming and surprisingly large. Our room had 2 double beds placed together making for one of the largest bed spaces we’ve ever had the pleasure to sleep in. Talk about stretching and turning… here you’ve got room for that and more!
But as a hotel room has to offer more comforts besides a nice bed, the bathroom with plenty of hot water made sure we could wash off all the sand accumulated outside. After all, Hotel Ollanta is just a 10 minutes ride away from the one and only oasis in South America, Huacachina.
For a great view over Ica’s rooftops and the sand dunes, make sure you ask for a room on the top floor. The view is totally worth it:
Some of the rooms have a living room area with large windows that make sure the place is bright and sunny. It’s a pleasant place to read a book and there’s also a TV and WIFI.
Breakfast included juice, eggs and toast, plus some pretty good coffee.
The staff is quite friendly and we met the owner who was really fun to talk to. He’s an avid traveler himself and had some pretty interesting stories to share with us.
Hotel Ollanta works as a great comfy base to explore Ica, Huacachina and other attractions in the area such as Ballestas Islands and Paracas National reserve – in fact, you can book tours at fair prices at the reception itself.
