Huacachina, next to Ica (Peru) is the only oasis in South America.
Nestled in immense golden sand dunes that can take up to one hour to climb by foot, you find a lagoon that completes the picture-perfect oasis, just like those one sees in the movies… plus the touristic oriented businesses around, that Lawrence of Arabia wouldn’t have enjoyed back in the day!
They say that every single year, the mermaid that supposedly lives in these waters takes with her one man. Just in case, I didn’t let Ashray go into the water. Also, it didn’t seem that clean, but that’s another story!…
