This picture was taken at the base camp near Amarnath in Kashmir, India. Amarnath is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus and the walk up to this point is around 20 kilometers as there are no roads coming to this part. The only other available transport option is riding atop a mule or helicopter.
Even from this point onwards you have to ascend another few kilometers to make it to the shiv ling (a representation of the lord shiva) – which is what everyone is here to see.
