One could say cars in La Habana are “something else”. But the truth is that they are “the same thing”, just 50 years ago!
Roaming the streets of Cuba’s capital city is like traveling back in time. If the architecture is the perfect back drop to create this feeling, the vintage cars that smoke up the air are the most representative element and a reminder of the American presence in the island decades ago.
Many say a trip to Cuba is not complete without a ride in one of these cars along Havana’s malecon (the road alongside the coast). Luckily for tourists, 99% of the cars are American vintage vehicles, so riding one of them at one point or another is always on the cards!
MTV’s Pimp My Ride could do wonders in Cuba!
