Cows in Easter Island

It looks like India, but it’s not!

This might look like a typical scene from rural India, but it is not.

The photo was taken while we drove around Easter Island (aka Rapa Nui).

Tourists tend to stick to the coastal areas were the famous Moai statues are placed, but as you go towards the inner parts of this tiny island you can appreciate a rustic and almost deserted landscape. Short grass fields, the odd plantation here and there and animals feeding themselves out of the land.

There is much more to Easter Island than Moai statues!
