This is the kind of place I would love to go back to one day when we have kids.
Heart Six is a beautiful collection of wooden cabins inside the ranch, in the most privileged of locations in Wyoming. The view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains you get as soon as you step outside your room is unbelievable! A perfect view point towards the Teton mountain range, awakening your curiosity for what lies ahead and that can easily be discovered on a day trip from the ranch.
Heart Six Ranch is not only a great base to explore Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, it’s also a destination in itself. We visited just before the summer season of 2013 started, so we didn’t partake in any activities as such.
During the summer season, guests can sign up for all-inclusive programs that include accommodation and all meals at the ranch, as well as a complete program of daily activities. Fun filled days can be enjoyed horse-back riding, visiting the national parks guided by knowledgeable locals and doing other outdoorsy nature-related activities and a variety of entertainment in the evenings.
During the winter, the whole place gets snowed it, making it perfect for snowmobiling in and around Teton National Park, Yellowstone, and the Continental Divide. There is no better way to explore the national parks in winter, if no other way at all when the snow blocks the usual access roads. Snowmobiling the parks, you’ll almost feel like one of the resident park rangers!
This time, we got to enjoy the accommodation and over-all feel at Heart Six Ranch. Our cabin was spacious, warm and really cozy. It was such a pleasure to be back at the end of an outdoorsy cold day.
Breakfast was served next door in the cafe (although during high season meals are served in the main lodge of the ranch). We started our days with hearty American preparations of eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, and crispy hash browns.
This is a feel-good place over-all and we would love to be back one day!
