The Calbuco Volcano in Chile is erupting right now. It’s strange that we passed by it a few days ago and marveled at the peaceful surroundings. Cattle grazing without any premonitions, endless fields of green grass, and lakes all around for this is in Chile’s lakes region.
We even talked about how this idyllic setting is so strange because it is pinned against a backdrop of some of the most active volcanoes in the world. They could blow up at any time. Yet, the landscape looks so peaceful that it can give you a sense of enormous calm.
The photos and videos of Calbuco’s eruption look absolutely fantastic. It’s wonderful to know that there were no reported injuries so far from such a massive eruption. Although this region of Chile is not very populated, there are still several cities in and around the volcanoes.
Here’s a beautiful timelapse to show you what the eruption looked like:
Nature is pretty intense!
All I can say about this is a great combination of luck and timing on your part!!
