We met this Abuelo (Grandpa) up in the mountains of the Colca Valley, in Peru.

We were sitting on the bench next to his, in the town square, waiting for a ride to go to the next village. I switched to his bench, which was under the shade of a tree, and he immediately started chatting with me.

He said that “love is a natural thing, there is nothing to be ashamed”. But kids in Arequipa (the nearest city) these days, get involved too soon and end up having kids as early as 16 years old. He has kids, grand-kids, and great grand-kids, “but I always worked and treated my wife good, with respect!”.

So yes, love is a natural thing… as long as you’re naturally good too!
