We stay in hotels most days of the year. Yet, it’s not that often that we check into a place where we feel immediately at home, making us not want to leave.
Steinhart Hotel in San Francisco is an apart-hotel member of Personality Hotels, a chain that includes 6 luxury properties in the main city of the Bay Area. Steinhart itself has been designed by William Sofield (same designer as Ralph Lauren and Gucci hotels), setting our expectations high, yet without disappointing.
Occupying a privileged location in the city, just a few blocks from Nob Hill and Union Square, this collection of studio and one-bedroom apartments are ideal for long-term stays.
Set in a historic San Francisco building, it represents the essence of the residential areas of the city, mixing modern furnishings with vintage details. A grand entrance and reception area lead to a bird-cage elevator that takes you up to the different corridors, decorated with wallpaper.
Inside the apartment, lies a world of comfort and small touches that make you feel like you checked in the place you should have. We were welcomed by a bottle of Californian red wine, along with gourmet popcorn, giving us plenty of material for a relaxing evening “at home”.
There is no point in style if comfort is not involved, but this is something Personality Hotels knows well. Steinhart Hotel is born where an intimate feel embraces functionality and uniqueness, and I am happy we were privileged enough to enjoy that.
