Greetings from Winterland!
Now that we are in the Southern Hemisphere, in Chile, I realize how during most of my life I never thought that while I was enjoying summer, it was winter somewhere else. Growing up in Portugal, the month of July was always synonym with long days, hot weather and going to the beach. It never crossed my mind that Christmas would happen during summer, for example. Not that I didn’t know it was as such, it’s just that I never really thought about it.
Reading articles and social media posts online, I keep on seeing how most of the things I come across mention summer these days. BBQ recipes for outdoorsy days, people in their swimming gear, vacations and selfies by the sea…
Well, it’s -2C outside as I write this and we thank the gods of electricity for the heater that is making our house a home. Summer is far away right now, and as the wind blows merciless outside, we can only fantasize with warmer days, like the one in this video in lovely Goa – India!
