Peruvian Serenade (VIDEO)

Traveling around new places is all about those little moments that captivate you and immerse you into a dreamy atmosphere. That make you feel like part of something big and great. That touch you.

We came across this blind harpist at the entrance of the Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo, in Peru. He was making a living playing and receiving money mainly from tourists. One could think people would give this old man coins because he is blind and it’s easy to feel sorry for him. But the truth is that, independently from all of that, he played absolutely beautifully. His voiced conveyed the harshness of life and his whole presence, with his melodies as sound track, could tell a story. He was like a living movie.

One of the kids doing shoe-shine nearby also got attracted by this harpist’s music. And so he came and placed a note inside his box – this was the money that he was trying to make at the entrance of the same touristic spot.
