International Driving License, Car sale woes, ticket bookings!

So we got our International Driver’s Licenses today. It’s really simple in Dubai, all you need is:

- A valid UAE license
- 2 passport size photos
- Passport copy with valid visa page
- AED 140

Just head to any post office, yes POST OFFICE and you can have an international drivers license in 10 minutes!

We’re heading to DNATA to book our air tickets to India, and my ticket to London. Need to go there since we have DNATA points on our credit card which we can cash out now that we’re leaving Dubai. DNATA is a government owned travel agency in Dubai and our credit cards gave us points that we can redeem there for air tickets, hotels, etc.

So onto our car sale woes. It’s funny because we’ve been doing A/B testing with car sales in Dubai. Or should I say A/Z testing :P

We put up two ads on Dubizzle (a popular UAE classifieds website, also where I used to work until last week). One of the ads reads “Beautiful BMW 320i Convertible” and the other reads “European Lady driven BMW 320i Convertible for sale”. Guess which one got more calls ?

What’s worse is that the european lady’s ad didn’t even have pictures!

No one’s bought the car yet but we’re optimistic. *fingers crossed*
