The Atacama desert is the driest place on earth. Scientists from NASA studied it before the US led Mars mission as the climate is supposed to be quite similar to the red planet. What’s more, there are few deserts with such dramatic landscapes as this. Sun scorched earth with cracks all over against a backdrop of snow capped volcanic peaks.
