In Puerto Natales, we’re around 53 degrees south of the equator so the sun is never directly overhead. What this means is that the world is bathed in a soft wonderful light, a true photographer’s delight!
The sun always looks like it’s either rising or setting. It comes up a bit in the morning, slinks along the horizon and then hides itself again. Sunrises and sunsets are long and dramatic. The average time for dawn and dusk is around 2 hours each. This means that during summer, you get almost 24 hours of sunlight! (sunrise at 5AM and sunset at around 11.30PM!)
