Viscacha’s are little rabbit like creatures, also known as the Andean rabbit. We were walking around Machu Picchu and were close to a bunch of french tourists when this one and two others showed up. They scampered around like crazy, on top of rocks, under cracks and crevices, and to the delight of our fellow frenchmen, even near their toes!
I took this shot when this crazy little Viscacha paused for a moment while observing us from about 3 feet away.
Machu Picchu definitely has some interesting animal attractions! :)
