We were in Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica during February last year. It was hot, humid and wild! Corcovado claims to be one of the most biodiverse places on earth. That claim isn’t surprising considering how you are surrounded by life everywhere!
During our jungle trek we ended up seeing boa constrictors, howler monkeys, ant eaters, wild pigs (which everyone found fascinating, not sure why..), etc. and a zillion different kinds of plants. We learned about primary and secondary rain forests and how the ecology of the place works on a gentle balance. The walk through the jungle was fascinating and Zara even managed to get tick fever that kept her sick for several days (remember: wear long sleeves and cover your legs).
You’d think that a forest such as this is a quiet place. On the contrary, the noise is almost deafening. Birds and insects constantly calling out to each other, it’s almost like a walk through Chandni Chowk!
