Agreed, Agracier!

I think Santiago de Chile, for example, is doing a great job welcoming street artists to make the city more colorful. Entire building facades have been dedicated to graffiti, through commissioned projects.

If ever there was a global theme in art, it has to be street art.So colorful, vibrant, alive, alluring and it does so much to ring a smile and a laugh or just an appreciation for all the effort artists put into their work to brighten the mood of passersby.

Street art should be appreciated more by municipal authorities, it brings color into the urban landscape.

I enjoyed this post a lot, especially the art pieces from Thailand and Chile. I enjoy street art so much that my partner and I have started a new weekly blog series called Street Art Around the World (how ironic, we promise we didn’t steal your idea…We just believe in sharing the hidden beauties that are all over the world with everyone). Zara, it really is amazing how many different things can be expressed by the means of graffiti and it seems even more amazing that this from of art exists universally. Especially the fact that this kind of art needs to be discovered instead of paid for in a museum makes it so much more real and contemporary. Thanks for putting this great collection of graffiti together and thanks even more for letting me participate… :)

Great post, I love street art and I always try to include that on my trips :)

I wouldn’t call the “rabichos” of Crete as graffiti though…. that not related to art at all, that’s pure vandalism. Graffiti is art.
