Rude Cactus!

Welcome to Uyuni! The largest and flattest salt flat in the world! Nestled in a valley between the mighty Andes, Uyuni is the whitest and flattest place we have ever been to. 10,000 square kilometers of salt covered earth at an altitude of about 3000m.

The area is so flat that it is often used to calibrate satellites for terrain mapping!

In the middle, you have what is aptly called an island. The island is a small mound that has cactus plants, some of which, are thousands of years old! They grow about 1 centimeter per year and there are some that are over 10m tall!

Not all of them are as rude as this one!
