Kilauea Volcano: the guts of the Earth

If  you are curious to understand what the insides of Earth look like, visiting volcano Kilauea might be a good idea!

This volcano inside a national park in Hawaii’s Big Island offers very different experiences to those visiting during the day or the night. During the day, you wouldn’t almost believe there is any activity down there. At the permitted distance, you see a massive hole in the ground and nothing but dry and desolate terrain all around. But at night, when the surroundings are pitch dark, you can see the glow of the burning lava below.

Like a Ranger of the park said when we approached Kilauea: “The landscapes around here might look like the end of the world. But actually… this is life in the making!”
