I think it has to do with the fact that the times I had them, both in Africa and India, they were sold by the road sides and kinda warm. Now I rediscovered drinking young coconut... but cold, SUPER cold. And I find it the most refreshing and re-energizing thing on a hot day. The ones you are drinking in the photos was the ones I don't really like. They are tasteless to me and the flesh is so blend. I like those small ones with nice coconut meat inside, but they are so hard to open. Last time I nearly broke my hard trying to open it. Love coconut oil and juice as well :). I guess it's fancier that way, but definitely not necessary and more of a waste. Still much better than plastic bottles!
