We'd like to go by a 4x4 either with a cabin on a Pickup or one with a roottop tent (we're owning a fully rugged Jeep Wrangler and want to get something similar :) Have great further trips and a good time, whereever you are, whereever you will be. There's nothing that I'd say you particularly need to avoid. Of course, please make sure you follow signs like "No Kayaking" etc. since usually those are put up for safety reasons. I'm in the process of planning a road trip very similar to yours (Santiago to Punta Arenas) starting mid-November and had looked at Wicked as an option. You've given me plenty of food for thought - especially the point about having to book accommodation on top as I'd factored in plenty of nights sleeping in the wilderness.
