After contemplating for a lot of years, I have now finally taken the plunge and quit my job to travel (don’t know yet for how long) and looking to fly into South America next month (mid/end of March). I stumbled upon your site while planning/researching and I so much appreciate all the info, pics and insights you beautiful people have added on this blog. I am truly inspired by both of you and hope to bump into you someday somewhere.

Already, getting a lot of tips from your articles, but would you be able to offer any suggestion in terms of being able to hire (or probably buy a cheap old) caravan? Given the time of the year, I intend to start off with Patagonia before the weather turns harsher – so fly into Ushuaia and slowly make my way up (don’t have concrete plans and prefer it that way). I read your article on the ridiculous costs of one way rentals and don’t mind changing my starting point to another city or for that matter start my travel from all the way up north/any other country either – essentially I don’t really have a proper itinerary and flexible as such; at the mo, just looking to decide a starting point and get going while I await visas and unwind other things back home.

Would be good to get our views/suugesions.

Is the chilean visa issued only to B1/B2 visa holders or people on H1B can are alos exempt?
