Though technology has changed the way of traveling for the people, But the true traveler is the one who read books and only they can acquire a true aspiration from visiting a place.

I love this... thanks, guys! The choices for Colombia and Afghanistan are absolute classics. I prefer memoir type literature to fiction, and would highly recommend "Beyond the Sky and the Earth: A Journey into Bhutan" by Jamie Zeppa. It is a superb depiction of Bhutan. I wish I'd read it before going there!

Before going to China I'd recommend Peter Hessler's "Country Driving". Or any of Peter Hessler's books on China. And before going to Delhi I'd recommend William Dalrymple's "the city of Djinns". For Mumbai I'd also recommend Rohinton Mistry's "A fine balance" and "Maximum city" by Suketu Mehta. Oh, and "Love and longing in Bombay" by Vikram Chandra.
